Best Games on Steam You Can No Longer Buy

Games

Steam is the top PC marketplace. Other storefronts have tried, and failed, to overthrow Steam. At this point, we doubt it’ll ever happen. If a game wants to be ‘seen’, it needs to be on Steam. However, over the years, a few notable games have been removed from Steam. You’ll be able to play them if you got them before the delisting (or you get a Steam account for sale with the game listed), but these games are not available right now for fresh accounts.

We’ll only cover the good ones here. Not the awful ones.

League of Legends

Yep. Before Riot made their own launcher, League of Legends was on Steam. Only a few thousand accounts have League of Legends tied to it, and it is seen as a badge of honor to have this game on your Steam account, because it is massively popular (millions of daily players), and everybody just wishes they could play it through Steam.

Fable III

We’re not quite sure why Microsoft removed Fable III from Steam, but it isn’t there anymore. In fact, unless you have a Steam key for the game (which are incredibly expensive), there is no way to play this amazing RPG outside of game streaming on xCloud. Honestly, it may be worth doing that, since Fable III is one of our favorite games of all time.

Rocket League

When the team behind Rocket League (the soccer-inspired driving game) were bought out by Epic, Rocket League was swiftly delisted from Steam, although several hundred thousand accounts already have the game tied to their Steam accounts. It shouldn’t be too hard to buy an account with Rocket League attached.

Deadpool

Old Marvel games disappear regularly when their licenses expire. Deadpool is one of them, leaving Steam in 2017. It is a shame, because this action-packed game probably would have made bank on the back of the movie series (which hadn’t come out yet), oh, and it is insanely fun to play. Used copies on console go for quite a bit of cash, and they’d probably go for even more on PC if there is a Steam account with Deadpool attached.

The Amazing Spider Man

Another Marvel game that bit the bullet. The Amazing Spiderman wasn’t a huge amount of fun, and the current version of Spiderman (from Insomniac beats it), but it was a movie-inspired game, and if you had this game, you probably would have managed to get 20-30 hours of gameplay from it.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 1 & 2

These Ubisoft games disappeared from Steam when Ubisoft decided to create their own launcher. While most Ubisoft games have returned, this one hasn’t. It’s a shame, because we loved this version of Ghost Recon, mostly because we love the whole strategy thing.
